Meet Up 2: I recommend traveling to Cedarville via Hwy 395 to get a final gas up at Rabbit Traxx Gas Truck Stop, 580 Patterson St, Cedarville, CA 96104. You can take the route through Gerlach if you prefer to stay in Nevada. The difference is about 20 minutes shorter through Gerlach, but you'll burn a 1/2 tank of gas and have to tap into your reserves early.

Trail Scale: 4/5 - Novice-to-intermediate. Road surface consisting of loose rock, dirt, and sand with some slickrock surfaces. Erosion, washes, gulches, and rock steps no higher than 12". 4WD is recommended with good ground clearance and driving skills. Aggressive tires and limited slip or A-TRAC would be a plus. Water and mud are possible. (Rating 5) Road surfaces are rutted, rocky, and sandy with steps not exceeding 14", with considerable slickrock surfaces. Water not exceeding 12" with some mud possible. Good vehicle approach and departure angles are helpful. Tall tires (33" plus) and traction aid devices (lockers, limited slips, A-TRAC) are recommended. Above-average driving skills are desirable.

What to Bring: Gas, gas, gas! Bring camping gear, chairs, recovery gear, HAM radio, firewood, and plenty of potable water. Bring food to feed you and your passengers for the trip.

Details

Several of us are going up early on Thursday morning to try and snag the BLM cabin at Steven's Camp. We are bringing a generator to power the cabin, so there should be running hot and cold water, fridge, stove, lights, and other amenities. there is a vault toilet, room for eight in the cabin (women/couples and children first), and plenty of space to put a tent up around the cabin as well.

We ask anyone with a trailer to haul their trail trucks up and load some extra fuel for the generator into the back of their trucks. Coordinate with Ryan, Stan, or Tony.
